When the Pandavas were escaping from the fire at the house of wax, they were passing through a forest called HidimbaVana (forest of Hidimba). Hidimba, the Rakhshasha, who was the terror of that forest, sent his sister Hidimbi to kill the intruders and bring their meat for food. She was smitten by the beauty of Bheema and tried to warn the Pandavas away. Meanwhile, Hidimba himself appeared in person, and a battle ensued. Hidimba was killed by Bheema. Hidimbi married Bheema and had a son named Ghatotkacha by him.
